About Us

Expert Voices Together

Expert Voices Together (EVT) provides trauma-informed support to journalists and researchers whose vital public-interest work is being undermined by coordinated campaigns of abuse and harassment. Without the assistance offered by EVT, experts may stop sharing their important work, or worse, quit altogether. We help keep expert voices in the public square.

succulents

Our Approach

Our trained support coordinators meet 1:1 with journalists and researchers to develop a customized support plan. This plan may include digital security assistance, approaches for communicating with employers, and strategies for identifying and empowering supportive networks and communities, among other tools.

Our History

Expert Voices Together began as a multi-university research and development project led by co-founders Dr. Rebekah Tromble and Dr. Kathleen Searles. The project brought together scholars from George Washington University, Louisiana State University, Columbia University, the University of Georgia, and the University of South Carolina, working alongside clinicians, technical specialists, and civil society representatives. As of 2025, Expert Voices Together is housed at Right To Be, a nonprofit organization working to end all forms of harassment and hate.
